ELSE is an award-winning strategic design consultancy that helps businesses from various

industries create innovative digital products and services. From large organisations (O2, UBS, Nivea…) to start-ups (WeFarm, 7bridges…), ELSE helps businesses apply behavioural science to discover opportunities, design experiences and create sustainable competitive advantage over short lead-time.

I worked across 3 disciplines: interaction design for multiple UI development projects, strategy research to shape a client’s new consumer proposition, and UX research to rethink the online world for children.

Role and Contributions

During my placement:

-I worked on a design system for TRowePrice by creating UI components and variants in Figma.

-I participated in shaping a consumer proposition for AVAST by researching laterals and user interaction examples. I then analysed the user journey and identified moments where branded interactions should be implemented. My research yielded interesting leads that were presented to the client.

I also participated in prototype development. I explored brand assets, tested how these would fit within the user journey, and created mock-ups. Some designs I implemented were carried forward.

Furthermore, I did strategy work by conducting landscape research on existing solutions within the consumer proposition -i.e. identifying emerging trends. I synthesised findings for a client workshop.

-For marketing, I designed posts and ELSE’s first press report targeted towards energy companies. It received coverage from external audiences.

-I expedited the rebrand of ELSE by exploring art directions and assessing their look and feel. I also produced assets that entered a first round of testing.

-I worked with the R&D team to rethink the online world for children. We adopted the double diamond process: we conducted lateral reviews, interviews, ideation sessions; and identified opportunities before plotting the user journey for the defined personas.
