Gammon Construction Limited

During my placement period with Gammon Construction Limited, I have been working under two departments, namely the Virtual Design and Construction (VDC), and Electrical & Mechanical (E&M). My role in the VDC department mainly includes CAD modelling with Autodesk Revit to assist the project team for their construction project model, conducting market research and benchmarking studies, as well as preparation of presentation material for meetings. As for my responsibilities in the E&M department, I was mainly involved in a digital transformation project set to digitalize cable management in current construction engineering work. I took up a leadership role on a small project team that focuses on cable route identification using 3D modeling software and Excel for making a semi-automated calculation model for cable sizing and type selection. I was also responsible for organizing regular team meeting as well as preparation of presentation materials to report work progress and project plan to the team. To conclude, I have employed my existing knowledge on CAD modeling learned from the design projects done in university and Excel Modeling skills acquired from Economics and Finance for System Design. And further enhanced these skills to apply them in construction industry-specific software and problems.
