Role and Contributions

Working in the engineering department, my role was a systems engineer working with the development of remote marine technology. The majority of my working hours at Ocean Infinity were spend contributing to two main projects. With each project, I acted as both the lead designer and the project manager interacting with different stakeholders to capture different aspects of the projects.

1. The first project places significant emphasis on the creation of a mechanical system, a form of winch handling system. This undertaking holds strategic importance, aligning closely with the company's vision of enabling remote operations at sea. Throughout this journey, I maintained consistent engagement with a diverse range of stakeholders, encompassing both internal Ocean Infinity employees and external partners such as contracted operators and suppliers.

2. The second project scope was to develop and demonstrate a platform for collecting, recording, analysing and resolving ad hoc or prescribed issues and produce useful information for resolution or follow-up. Where the system should also serve to collect recordable information that feeds into KPIs required for training or tracking. This was a shorter project for 2 months, where the main deliverable was a requirements document. This was handed over to the corresponding department in the company for further development.
