I took my Industry placement in Shenzhen DeepVision Innovation Technology located in Shenzhen city in China. It offers deep-learning-based visual inspection technology for manufacturing industries to help them monitor their manufacturing qualities.
My job as an engineer is to help develop new equipment for different manufacturing lines and offer mechanical solutions for any assembly problems. Sometimes we need to build the machine from scratch and sometimes we add a visual inspection module to a production line to reduce the need for manual checking. I mainly used the CAD software Solidworks to build parts following the order from my manager or assist my colleagues with assembling the machines in the workshop, as well as making animations to demonstrate the working mechanism of our products. I mainly contribute in designing a tile loading machine for a manufacturing line and help design the visual examine module of our inspection machine.
