Adidas AG

My role combined aspects of consultancy and R&D. I supported other teams that worked on specific product categories and primarily created Grasshopper algorithms that could automate and accelerate manual and repetitive aspects of their creation process. Additionally, I conducted research to explore new technologies and their potential application within the company.

The consultancy projects that I worked on offered short-term benefits to the organisation by contributing to upcoming product commercialization:
- Supported the Football Hardware team with the development of a ball design for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
- Collaborated with the Ultraboost and Adizero Running designers to develop outsole patterns for four shoes set to be released in 2025.

The R&D projects aimed at long-term advantages for both my team and the wider organisation by aligning with Adidas’ innovation value and advertising my team’s area of expertise, promoting further collaborations:
- Developed a digital and physical workflow for outsole pattern generation.
- Conducted research into 3D printing on textiles and created a series of samples.
- Developed a Python script to scan and standardise the Adidas 3D last library.

Key design engineering skills which I used for these projects included CAD modelling, physical prototyping, programming, data management, teamwork, problem-solving, and creative thinking.
