Above was formed in 2017 when Stockholm-based industrial design studio Howl merged with Frankly, a engineering firm focused on the full scale of product creation. The intent of this was to create an innovation agency that seamlessly fuses strategy, design and technology to transform businesses, brands, products and services and to equip their clients for the future. Today, Above consists of 80+ designers, engineers and strategists with its main offices in Stockholm and Malmö with satellite offices in San Francisco and Shenzhen.

Role and Contributions

As a member of the Industrial Design team my contributions revolved around exploration, concepting and prototyping aspects of the physical design of a product. Because Above is an agency that works for a wide range of clients, each project had different design language, brand identity and functional purpose. This ranged from portable content creation webcams and lights for a gaming peripherals brand to a quarter of a million dollars intraortic balloon pump for a medtech company.
