Apple MDE’s are provide end to end manufacturing and process solutions for key design features. This includes manufacturing process development and capability (includes incorporating all aspects of equipment, consumables, key parameters, process setup, and qualification), selection and design of manufacturing equipment, automation, and strategic R&D. By matching the design requirements with the capabilities of the manufacturing processes, we could ensure optimal product quality and production efficiency. As an Apple Manufacturing Design Engineer (MDE), several skills and methods are learned from Design Engineering. Throughout my internship, I faced numerous challenges associated with design constraints, functionality, manufacturability, and cost optimization. One significant aspect of design engineering is assessing product features for manufacturability, learning in material let me know the material property, the manufacturing method and suitable surface treatment, beside learning in material, I further learned how to evaluate the advantages, limitations, and cost implications of different processes to make informed recommendations.This effort aims to enhance product quality, streamline operations, and effectively manage resources, cost reduction, labor reduction which all contributing to the overall success of Apple, also through our manufacturing method, we achieved carbon neutral in 2023 for better sustaining plant.
